About Nathan:

Nathan Goddard received a BFA in painting with an emphasis on Land Arts from the University of New Mexico in 2000. While in the Southwest his studio experience and practice involved long treks throughout the four-corners area with his easel, paints and camera creating images in the tradition of the early Taos Modernists. The land, environment, and diverse cultures within the southwest were the core subjects within his work. After moving back to Michigan five years ago, Nathan's professional work includes graphic design, product development and sculpture. His love of the outdoors and his passion for creating has established him as an innovative and contemporary artist in the community.
Shadowglyphs a Series.
Recent work inspired by the relationship between the figure and the natural environment, these paintings and sculptures are a multi-media exploration that is part performance, photography, video and painting. This way of working allows me to explore relationships between figure and environment, present and past without leaving a mark on our landscape. The mark we leave today has great impact on our place of tomorrow. www.nathangoddard.com
